Mysmartgreen not Dim Dim
What do you do when you want to hold a small seminar and your speaker is in Adelaide and the participants are spread around Australia? That was the question Patrice Braun and Nigel Rawlins posed. Well there is Illuminate but previous experiences hadn’t been good. We decided to try a few free online solutions which were shortlisted to Dim Dim and WizIQ. They both have similar functionality, but Dim Dim worked flawlessly and the interface looked the best.
Tool helps business go green
A NEW online program is helping Ballarat’s small businesses become more sustainable. SmartGreen is part of a two year project and run by the University of Ballarat’s Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness and the National Centre for Sustainability. CRIC deputy Director Dr Patrice Braun said last year, businesses including Haymes Paint and King Print, worked with the project to create environmental action plans.
Business Sustainability-Business gets on board!
Ballarat businesses are increasingly accessing ways to make their business more sustainable and cost efficient. Ballarat City Council and its partners are providing the leadership, knowledge and tools to help industry make the changes they need to save money and the planet. Two new business sustainability programs initiatives were rolled out in 2008. SmartGreen is an entrepreneurial training and mentoring program specifically designed to match the needs of business in the Ballarat region.
University of Ballarat looks to green small business(2007)
The University of Ballarat has been given money to help reduce Ballarat business's impact on the environment. The university's Centre for Regional Innovation and Competitiveness will use the Federal Government grant to develop strategies to green the city's small businesses. CRIC deputy director Dr Patrice Braun expected the initiative to help businesses and the environment"Hopefully businesses take advantage of the benefits created for themselves and the environment," Dr Braun said.
